Broadstairs
Last month Sara mentioned the great theatre that is taking place around the regions
Then this week I virtually bumped into Michael Wheatley-Ward who runs Memorial Theatre, Hilderstone, Broadstairs. There they host the Sarah Thorne Summer Repertory Season which, next week, presents the comedy “Passing Strangers” by Eric Chappell, directed by Michael Friend followed by “A Cricket Match” from the Initimate Exchanges series by Alan Ayckbourn the week after.
Both plays are performed at the Memorial Theatre, Hilderstone, Broadstairs. Tickets are £12 for Members and £14 for non-members
This is the 5th Summer Repertory Season and is the only Professional Summer Repertory Season in Kent and the South East. The play season has a large local following but as Broadstairs is a wonderful seaside town to go to for a short break (think seaside towns like your mum and dad used to go to for their hols when they were young) the theatre attracts many visitors too.
No theatre breaks available I’m afraid but maybe next year! If you want to organise it yourself then seats for all the plays are bookable in advance (only) from the Box Office on 0845 2626263 and my mum and dad recommend the Albion Hotel – Telephone: 01843 868071
Tell them Theatre Breaks sent you!
All the best
Simon
