Hi Theatre-goers
I hope you all had a good weekend. I’m sure you haven’t failed to notice that Christmas is just around the corner – yes Christmas Eve is just ONE WEEK away! Have you hung your stockings up?
I thought I’d get you clued up on the Christmas themed shows in London for lots of family fun over the school holidays and beyond…
First up is diamond geezer Tommy Steele in Scrooge The Musical at the London Palladium. The show is proving so popular that it’s extended into an extra week in January. Adults and children alike will be transported back to Victorian London and watch in awe at the transformation of bah-humbug Ebenezer Scrooge to generous, dancing, smiling businessman of the year!
I see that there is a cartoon sequel to the ever popular children’s classic The Snowman on tv this Christmas Eve (The Snowman & the Snow Dog) and of course, Christmas in London would not be Christmas without the return of the Sadler’s Wells Ballet Company’s excellent production of The Snowman at the Peacock theatre. Pure magic for the whole family – you will definitely come out Walking on the Air !
Another popular children’s book that has been turned into animation (on tv on Christmas Day) and also a children’s play is Room on the Broom at the Lyric theatre – with morning and weekend performances this makes an ideal Christmas treat for younger children with a grandparent or two in tow!
Have a great Monday everyone
Sara
