Hi theatre-goers
With all the good weather we’re having in the South East (& I hope you are having some sunshine too) a trip to the theatre can often be neglected.
However, there are some excellent shows in London this month and here is a round-up of what to go & see with the family during the school holidays.
Top of everyone’s list should be Disney’s The Lion King at the Lyceum theatre. A theatrical masterpiece in story telling, spectacular costumes and an uplifting musical score. Great for all the family from ages 5+.
Another firm family favourite is, of course, the naughtiness of Matilda at the Cambridge theatre. It really is a magical experience from beginning to end and a “must see” for all ages from 7 to 70 years.
New kid on the block is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. A truly amazing production with jaw-dropping special effects, a very witty script and a musical score for the 21st century.
For older children, there’s the very. very silly Monty Python’s Spamalot at the Playhouse theatre. Brilliantly funny, you will be rushing home afterwards wanting to watch all the Python films and tv series again on DVD.
Enjoy the rest of the summer everyone
