28/8/13 Jersey Boys on the move

Hi there Theatre-goers

Hope you’ve all enjoyed the Bank Holiday Weekend here in the UK – wasn’t the weather glorious?

2012JerseyBoys 156x116Great to receive official confirmation that the sensational Jersey Boys, currently playing at the Prince Edward theatre, is not closing in March next year, but moving just 5 minutes walk eastwards to the Piccadilly theatre where performances start on 14th March.

Having seen Jersey Boys a few times now, I can highly recommend it whether you lived through Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons original hits in the 60s or not. I once went with a friend who wasn’t born until 1983, but she still recognised 90% of the songs and loved the staging.

Coming into the Prince Edward theatre next May is the long-awaited return of tear-jerker Miss Saigon, which is one of my all-time favourite musicals. I am so, so happy that it’s coming back to the West End. Tickets go on sale on 9th September and, I, for one, is counting down the sleeps!

Miss Saigon is the tale of a doomed love affair between a soldier during the last days before the fall of Saigon to the communists in 1975 and a young Vietnamese girl to whom he promises a new life in the USA. As you can imagine, nothing goes to plan! Heart-wrenching…
