23/10/2012 Spamalot returns

Hi Theatre-goers

Get ready to be very.very. very silly indeed with the return of Monty Python’s Spamalot – the musical “rip-off” of the wonderful film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. (I remember laughing myself off my cinema seat when I first saw that film back in the day).

I took my eldest son to Spamalot when it was first in the West End (at The Palace theatre) and I think that we will probably go again this time around when the hit musical transfers to the Playhouse theatre with previews from 14th November.

Starring this time around as King Arthur will be DCI Banks star Stephen Tompkinson making his West End musical debut next month. Tompkinson, who is a popular face on television with roles in Drop The Dead Donkey, Ballykissangel and Wild At Heart, will lead the cast alongside Anna-Jane Casey (Lady of the Lake) and ex-Eastender Todd Carty who plays the role of coconut tapping Patsy will return to the show for a strictly limited run until 24th November which is the officially press night.

Written by Monty Python icon Eric Idle and composer John Du Prez, it features everything you’d expect from a Monty Python experience, including a bevy of beautiful show girls, cows, killer rabbits and French people, with songs including He Is Not Dead Yet, Knights Of The Round Table, Find Your Grail and, of course, the classic Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.

Need to l;augh… look no further than the Playhouse theatre this winter…

Have a great Tuesday everyone

Sara
